Abstract

Background:  The formation of a youth Posyandu can be a forum that will help adolescents understand adolescent health problems, solve adolescent life problems, form groups that support adolescents, and expand the reach of the Puskesmas. The coverage of youth posyandu services in Papua Province is only 28.19%. Purpose:  This study aims to look at the relationship between knowledge, the role of peers, the role of health workers, and the role of the media with youth participation in youth Posyandu. Methods: The research design used was cross-sectional with a population of all adolescents aged 10-19 years who visited the Kotaraja Health Center. The sample size in this study was 47 respondents using the accidental sampling technique which was carried out at the Kotaraja Health Center for 3 weeks. Data analysis was performed using the man-whitney test (p <0.05). Result: The results showed that there was a significant difference in the average knowledge score of those who attended the youth Posyandu and those who did not. In addition, it was found that there was a significant difference in the average score between the scores of the role of peers, the role of health workers, and the role of the media in adolescents who attended posyandu and those who did not attend posyandu. Conclusion:  There is a relationship between knowledge, the role of peers, the role of health workers, and the role of the media with youth participation in youth posyandu.
