Abstract
Background: Breast cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in women. One of the early detection efforts for breast cancer is by conducting a Breast Self-Examination (SADARI). Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is a self-examination of the breasts by observing and checking changes in one's own breasts every month. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the description of BSE behavior of adolescent girls in Sereh Village, Sentani District, Jayapura Regency. Methods: This research uses quantitative research methods with a cross sectional approach. The research population consisted of 123 people and the research sample was 85 respondents. The sampling technique was carried out by snowball sampling. Result: The results of the study showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge about SADARI examination, namely 61 respondents (71.8%). Based on attitudes, more had good attitudes about SADARI examination as many as 43 respondents (50.6%), and respondents who had done SADARI as many as 46 respondents (54.1%). Conclusion: The majority of teenage girls in Sereh Village, Sentani District have quite good BSE behavior.
