Abstract

Low Back Pain is the most frequently complained of by workers. Tailoring is a job that involves sitting all day, so it can cause LBP. Purpose: The aim of the research is to determine the relationship between age, gender, length of service and length of sitting with complaints of LBP among tailors in Abepura District, Jayapura City. Method: This type of research is quantitative, using a cross sectional approach. The population was 50 respondents with a research sample of 40 respondents using the total sampling method. Data collection used a questionnaire with univariate and bivariate analysis. Result: Univariate analysis showed that respondents at risk were aged ≥28 years (70.0%), male (77.5%), working period ≥5 years (55.0%), and sitting time >8 hours (65 .0%). The results of the bivariate analysis of the chi-square test showed that there was a relationship between age (p=0.002), length of service (p=0.000) with LBP complaints and no relationship between gender (p=0.594), sitting time (p=1000) with LBP complaints. Conclusion: There is a relationship between tailor characteristics, namely age and length of service, with LBP complaints among tailors in Abepura District, Jayapura City.
